چکیده

In this paper we propose a new class of primal-dual path-following interior point algorithms for solving monotone linear complementarity problems. At each iteration, the method would select a target on the central path with a large update from the current iterate, and then the Newton method is used to get the search directions, followed by adaptively choosing the step sizes, which are e.g. the largest possible steps before leaving a neighborhood that is even wider than a given N− ∞ neighborhood. The only deviation from the classical approach is that we treat the classical Newton direction as the sum of two other directions, corresponding to respectively the negative part and the positive part of the right-hand-side. We show that if these two directions are equipped with different and appropriate step sizes then the method enjoys the low iteration bound of O( √ n log (x 0)T s0 ε ), with n the dimension of the problem, ε the required precision, and (x, s) the initial interior solution. For a predictor-corrector variant of the method, we further prove that, besides the predictor steps, each corrector step also reduces the duality gap by a rate of 1 − 1/O(√n). Additionally, if the problem has a strict complementarity solution then each predictor step achieves a Q-quadratic convergence rate.

An interior-point algorithm for $P_{ast}(kappa)$-linear complementarity problem based on a new trigonometric kernel function

In this paper, an interior-point algorithm  for $P_{ast}(kappa)$-Linear Complementarity Problem (LCP) based on a new parametric trigonometric kernel function is proposed. By applying strictly feasible starting point condition and using some simple analysis tools, we prove that our algorithm has $O((1+2kappa)sqrt{n} log nlogfrac{n}{epsilon})$ iteration bound for large-update methods, which coinc...

Primal-Dual Affine Scaling Interior Point Methods for Linear Complementarity Problems

A first order affine scaling method and two mth order affine scaling methods for solving monotone linear complementarity problems (LCP) are presented. All three methods produce iterates in a wide neighborhood of the central path. The first order method has O(nL2(lognL2)(log lognL2)) iteration complexity. If the LCP admits a strict complementary solution then both the duality gap and the iterati...

Corrector-predictor arc-search interior-point algorithm for $P_*(kappa)$-LCP acting in a wide neighborhood of the central path

In this paper, we propose an arc-search corrector-predictor interior-point method for solving $P_*(kappa)$-linear complementarity problems. The proposed algorithm searches the optimizers along an ellipse that is an approximation of the central path. The algorithm generates a sequence of iterates in the wide neighborhood of central path introduced by Ai and Zhang. The algorithm does not de...
